Chaos erupted during Friday’s WWE SmackDown tag team title bout, and what started as a power move quickly spiraled into a moment the crowd won’t forget anytime soon. Nia Jax had a plan to execute at ringside — but it didn’t go according to her script.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match saw Lash Legend and Nia Jax challenge champions IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. The action escalated late, with bodies flying and tempers boiling over.
After a hard-fought exchange inside the ring, the fight spilled to the outside. Jax tossed Ripley into the announce table while Legend grabbed a table from under the ring and set it up at ringside.
With Ripley lying across it, Jax climbed to the second rope from the apron, seemingly ready to flatten the champion in emphatic fashion.
Nia Jax’s Table Spot Takes Unexpected Turn on WWE SmackDown
Before Jax could deliver, Ripley fought back. She kicked Legend away and slipped off the table, forcing Jax to adjust on the apron. That’s when IYO SKY intervened.
SKY connected with a kick that forced Jax slow down at the apron. Moments later, she launched herself with a suicide crossbody through the ropes — sending both women crashing through the table instead.
The impact drew loud “holy s***” chants from the crowd, which were quickly censored on the broadcast.
Elsewhere in the chaos, Legend speared Ripley through the ringside barricade, turning the title match into a demolition derby. Earlier, Ripley had powered Jax out of the corner and SKY had nearly secured victory with a moonsault before Legend broke it up.
With both teams brawling around the ringside and the referee unable to regain control, the match was ruled a no-contest.
What was meant to be a statement spot from Jax ended with her going through a table instead of delivering it. On SmackDown, tables often turn — and this time, they turned on her.
