Andrade El Idolo stated that he wishes to end his wrestling career in AEW.
Andrade made his AEW comeback in October but was absent from TV for a few more months as a result of his WWE non-compete. Once he was free, however, he returned to AEW last month and was back with the Don Callis Family.
Following his return, he has stated on more than one occasion since his return that the AEW World Championship is the goal. Last week, on AEW Dynamite, he made a big step toward it by defeating Swerve Strickland.
Andrade will take on Kenny Omega in a number one contender’s match this week on AEW Dynamite. In the lead-up to their highly anticipated fight, Andrade took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to send a strong message that Omega wouldn’t stop him from being AEW World Champion.
He also mentioned his desire to prove doubters wrong and made it clear he still has unfinished business with MJF. He wrote, “We meet again, THE BELT COLLECTOR. You won’t take away my dream of proving I can be the AEW Heavyweight Champion. Por la Raza and for all those who don’t believe in me(He believed in me @TheDonCallis ) but the real reason I’m going to win is because I want to kick @The_MJF ass! When I signed my contract, I told AEW I wouldn’t hit MJF in backstage(I like breaking the rules! Baby) , but in the ring I can ???THE EYES IN THE BELT CHICO!!! @AEW”
After his post, a fan replied by jokingly asking whether this AEW run would be his final one or if he would leave again in the future.
Andrade responded, writing, “I would like to retire here! I’m not kidding. I’m here to contribute to the company, and I’m here to become one of the greats of AEW.”
