Killer Kross has wrestled in some unique settings. This one might be familiar to some fans, but the backstory makes it a little more creepy.
Kross spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of his appearance at MLW Battle Riot VIII. During the conversation, Kross shared his reaction to MLW’s new “home base” at South Carolina’s Charleston Music Hall, a unique 19th-century concert venue. MLW’s debut in Charleston featured unique “Las Vegas Sphere-like” graphics, according to MLW boss Court Bauer.
Kross spoke highly of wrestling in such a unique venue, then shared the “weirdest” place he’s ever worked. It wasn’t so much that Kross felt out of his element, but he said Lucha Underground’s season 4 home was strange because the building was ready to be demolished.
“That last season, we were in a building that was basically condemned,” Kross explained. “I do remember that after the final episode, the next day, they were going to demolish the entire building. It was one of those two [locations used for the “Temple”]. Walking through the place was wild. We had the area where the audience sat and where we filmed everything, but the building itself was massive and completely empty.”
Killer Kross says the building also resulted in some really spooky events
Kross said the derelict building wasn’t the only issue, as the venue might have been haunted, too.
“There was even a section where some people thought the place was haunted. They were hearing voices and taking pictures in the dark, and strange things were showing up,” Kross continued. “I swear to God, you can ask PJ Black about it. He’d remember it better than I would. I wasn’t there when it happened, but I remember everyone talking about it the next day. I just thought, ‘This is some creepy sh*t.’”
MLW Battle Riot VIII takes place on Thursday, January 29, at the Osceola Heritage Park Events Center in Kissimmee, Florida. Fans who can’t watch the event live and in person will be able to watch the full show on a 7-day delay. MLW will stream the event for free on YouTube & beIN SPORTS on February 5.
