Sami Zayn Vows To Prove Doubters Wrong At WrestleMania

Sami Zayn is ready to prove the doubters wrong when he faces Gunther at WrestleMania 40.

The WWE Superstar is set to tackle the record-breaking reign of the Intercontinental Champion next month as he does battle with the dominant Gunther.

However, Zayn is sick of being doubted in his career. He claims he has to prove his worth more than some other wrestlers, and notes that some people doubt he can step up to a new level.

Speaking with Sportskeeda, Sami Zayn said:

“I feel like in some ways, its been a reoccurring theme in my career. Maybe throughout my life, in fact! Its like this constant battle to prove yourself. No matter what you do, it feels like its never quite enough to prove it.

“I’d love to be able to just rest and people to go like ‘Oh Sami. Any given night, that guys a world title contender and he could beat anybody!’. But even after all these years, and even after reaching the level I’ve reached, even after main eventing WrestleMania, I feel like there’s this part where people don’t think the next thing is possible”

Sami Zayn Says He’ll Win The Intercontinental Championship At WrestleMania

Zayn continued, noting that he was sick of people doubting him and saying his progression was not possible. He wants to prove people wrong by beating Gunther at WrestleMania and taking home the Intercontinental Championship.

“Part of my wants to scream, ‘Well why isn’t it possible?!. The last thing didn’t seem possible. The thing before that didn’t seem possible. Every step of the way didn’t seem possible, and yet here I am, so when does it stop being a fluke?'”

“I guess I’ve just had to come to terms with some people get that luxury and some people don’t. Maybe I’m just one of those people that will always be counted out a little bit, but I’ve learned to make it work for myself throughout my career. It’s not the first time I’ve been told I can’t. I also don’t think it’ll be the first time I prove people wrong, because I think that title is coming home to me in Philadelphia.”
