Seth Rollins Reveals WWE Royal Rumble Status

After teasing a potential Royal Rumble appearance earlier this morning, Seth Rollins has flat-out confirmed his status for this weekend’s event in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this morning on ESPN’s Get Up, Seth Rollins seemingly teased an appearance at this weekend’s Royal Rumble event, stating:

“Greeny, thank you guys for having me. Shoulder’s doing good, man. It’s doing good. I don’t know if it’s good enough to get me in the ring this Saturday in Riyadh in the Royal Rumble,” Seth Rollins teased. “But we’re on track to return sometime sooner rather than later.”

These comments immediately led to online speculation that Rollins would have a John Cena-level recovery and return at the Royal Rumble this weekend.

But not so fast…

Later in the morning, Seth Rollins appeared on ESPN’s First Take, where he confirmed that he will not be returning at the Royal Rumble this weekend.

“Pump the brakes on me participating in the Royal Rumble. I’m not there yet,” Seth Rollins confirmed. “I just got my rotator cuff done in October. I have a couple months left to go. I wish I could get myself in there, but that’s not going to be the case. I’ll give it away. I’m not going to be at the Rumble. I just can’t. I would love to be in there and dump all those dudes over the top rope and punch my card to WrestleMania, but the doctors are not going to let it happen this time around, unfortunately.” [H/T: Fightful]

WrestleZone will have live coverage of the WWE Royal Rumble event later this weekend.
