AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with Tony Schiavone in the ring, and he brings out AEW World Champion MJF. Friedman puts over everything about himself and declares himself the best wrestler on earth. MJF says holding the Triple B proves that.

MJF says if you ever hear another wrestler say they are the best, turn the channel because they are talking out of their ass. Friedman says 2026 is the year of the Devil, and there isn’t anybody on his level. This brings out Brody King, who gets right in MJF’s face.

King says that after what he did to Bandido last week, the only thing he can think of is all the ways he wants to hurt him. King says nothing would bring him more joy than putting his fist through his chest and ripping out his spine. But King says he’s not going to do that because we all know MJF is just a bitch.

King says he knows if he puts his hands on MJF, he’s not going to get what he wants. Brody says he wants a match so he can drop Friedman on his head and take the AEW World Championship. King says he wants the match tonight.

MJF says it’s an interesting proposition, but after thinking about it, he’s gonna have to say no. Friedman says it’s not because he’s afraid of him, that’s ridiculous. Friedman wants to know who King has beaten to earn a title shot. MJF says if King wants to face the champion, he needs to beat elite-level talent, and until that happens, this match isn’t going to take place.

MJF tries to get tough with King about interrupting him, but when King gets in his face, he tucks tail and runs like a coward.

JetSet Rodeo…?

We get a video package of last week’s shows that saw Hangman Page and JetSpeed capture the AEW World Trios Titles.

Hangman Page and JetSpeed are backstage with Renee Paquette. Page says tonight is a night for celebration, and they should come up with a trios name. Kevin Knight came up with JetSet Rodeo that Hangman likes. Speedball tries to propose Horse c*ck, but Page says he’s tried that in the past and it doesn’t work. Hangman announces he’ll be facing Katsuyori Shibata on Collision.

They put over Knight and Bailey’s matches tonight, and Page gives Speedball advice on how to handle Joe tonight. When Knight asks Hangman how he should deal with Swerve Strickland tonight, Page simply said he thinks it’s going to be a hell of a main event.

Samoa Joe vs. Speedball Mike Bailey

  • The finish of the match saw interference from The Opps, allowing Samoa Joe to hit Mike Bailey with a Muscle Buster to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Grade: A

I know this match was going to be great, but I didn’t think it was going to be THIS great! Wow! What a great match to kick off tonight’s episode of Dynamite. Joe and Bailey crushed it! I would love to see these two go at it again soon.

Street Fight: Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders vs. Hechicero, Lance Archer, and Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family

  • The finish of the match saw Daniel Garcia lock Rocky Romero in the DragonTamer. Jon Moxley curbstomped Romero, and the referee stopped the match because Romero was completely knocked out.

Winners: The Death Riders

After the match, Moxley gets in Don’s face on commentary and tells him that his boy (assuming Okada) knows where to find him.

Grade: A

Unbelievable street fight. I didn’t think anything could top what we got in the opener, but this was just as good as the opener in a completely different way. Watching the Don Callis Family get a taste of their own medicine was a beautiful thing. If AEW plans to babyface the entire Death Riders faction, this was one hell of a good start. If you like street fights, go out of your way to check this out. No recap could really do the chaos of this match appropriate justice.

Thekla responds to Kris Statlander

The Triangle of Madness are backstage. Thekla mocks Kris Statlander’s promo from last week and declares that she wants a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship next week on Dynamite. Julia Hart challenges Willow Nightingale for a TBS Championship match this weekend on Collision.

FTR (w/ Big Stoke) vs. Alec Price and Jordan Oliver

  • The finish of the match saw FTR hit Jordan Oliver with the Shatter Machine, followed by Dax Harwood scoring the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: FTR

Grade: B+

Very promising debut for Oliver and Price. They felt like they belonged in the ring with the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and that’s a great way to kick off your time in the company. Really surprised they are doing the FTR match with the Don Callis Family next week. I really thought they were gonna wait to do that in Australia next month. Oh well…

The Triangle of Madness get their answer

We hear from Kris Statlander and the Babes of Wrath backstage. Statlander accepts Thekla’s challenge for next week and says if anyone wants an eliminator match against her on Collision, she will do that too. Willow Nightingale accepts Julia Hart’s challenge for this weekend. Harley Cameron says if Skye Blue tries to get involved, she’s going to punch her in the face.

Kenny Omega vs. Josh Alexander (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Kenny Omega hit Josh Alexander with the One-Winged Angel to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kenny Omega

After the match, Omega gets on the microphone and says he’ll give Callis credit for striking while the iron was hot and trying to make sure he wasn’t 100%. Omega says he’s happy to report that he hasn’t felt this good in years. Omega says Don Callis doesn’t have one member on his roster that can beat him where he’s at right now. Kenny says he can send someone after him after he wins the AEW World Championship.

Grade: A-

I was wondering why Omega and Alexander weren’t the main event tonight, but when I saw Omega get jumped on his way to the ring, it made perfect sense. While I wish they would just let Omega work as the Best Bout Machine, it’s clear that AEW likes the idea of him fighting from underneath for now. Hopefully, at some point this year, that changes.

Timeless Love Bombs (w/ Luther) Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford

  • The finish of the match saw Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford hit Mina Shirakawa with the Doomsday Device. Toni Storm tried to make the save but was stopped by Marina Shafir, who came out through the crowd and locked her in Mother’s Milk.

Winners: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford

Grade: B+

Man, that toss from Megan when she threw Mina right over Toni’s head scared the heck out of me. I’m really glad to see that she escaped that seemingly unharmed. The match was pretty good, but it was hard to focus on it momentarily after that scary spot early on.

Kevin Knight vs. Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana)

  • The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland hit Kevin Knight with Big Pressure to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Grade: A

MJF watches from his seat, disappointed that Strickland was victorious as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

I thought tonight was an excellent episode of AEW Dynamite. We got a lot of fantastic matches, and the list of challengers for MJF’s World Championship got even longer.

This might be the best in-ring episode of Dynamite of the year so far. That’s a pretty great sign as we continue to advance into 2026. The main event between Strickland and Knight was fantastic. I can’t recall ever seeing a piledriver on the guardrail like that before. Crazy stuff!

Grade: A-
