CM Punk Hints At When He’ll Retire From WWE

CM Punk has teased his WWE retirement timeline.

The Straight Edge Superstar remains dominant as RAW’s World Heavyweight Champion. Punk won the title by defeating Jey Uso at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in November. He later successfully defended the title against Bron Breakker on the first episode of RAW in 2026.

Punk knows better than anyone that he cannot remain champion forever. The same applies to his time as an active in-ring competitor. While Punk has previously stated he had no intention of hanging up his boots, a recent interview with Cinema Blend saw the Voice of the Voiceless putting a number to his days inside the squared circle.

“When I was 15, if you asked me if I’d be wrestling when I was 40, I would tell you ‘No, that’s crazy. 40 is so old.’ I’m 47, and I don’t feel old yet. Terry Funk wrestled for a long time, Ric Flair wrestled for a long time. I mean, there’s luchadors that are like in their 70s that are still doing it. Do I want to be doing that? Probably not. I would estimate probably the big 50 is when I should maybe gracefully bow out. Knock on wood, if nothing else horrible happens,” CM Punk said.

CM Punk reacts to claims he’s a part-timer in WWE now

Punk was a recent guest on Notsam Wrestling. When asked to respond to his critics for calling him a hypocrite for working a part-time schedule in WWE now, Punk claimed he elects to be on every show if the travel allows it.

“You know what they do with me? Like, everything’s a gotcha. ‘He said he hated part-timers. Look at him. He’s a part-timer now,’” CM Punk said, mocking the online discourse. “I elect to be on every single show, if the travels allows it. We just did a Christmas loop. The Christmas loop is fun. Harkens back to the old school days, where I can get on the road, get in the car, drive to the next town. I’m on my own clock. I get to see the fans.”

CM Punk is scheduled to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Judgment Day’s Finn Balor next week on RAW in Belfast, Ireland. Some fans believe Balor is teasing the return of a popular gimmick. Read more about it here.
