WWE 2K26 season seems to be almost upon us.
Along with Royal Rumble season usually comes the hype for WWE’s yearly 2K video game. So far, no official teasers for WWE 2K26 have been released. According to a new report, though, that will change very soon.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reports that WWE filmed a commercial for the 2K26 video game in December, with the expectation it will debut sometime in the next few weeks. The content of that commercial, including which WWE stars were involved, remains unclear, as does the potential cover star of the game.
Former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns graced the cover of WWE 2K25. In 2024, WWE revealed Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley as the cover stars for 2K24. While Rhodes’ face was plastered on the standard edition, Ripley and Belair appeared on the front of the game’s deluxe edition.
The trailer for WWE 2K25 dropped during the go-home episode of WWE Raw ahead of the 2025 Royal Rumble, giving fans a first look at the gameplay and the virtual models of the roster. The 2026 Royal Rumble will emanate from Saudi Arabia on January 31; the preceding Raw will take WWE to Toronto, Ontario, Canada on January 26.
Back in November, an earnings report revealed that WWE 2K26 is slated for a release within the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 (January 1 – March 31, 2026). WWE 2K25 hit shelves on March 14 of last year with multiple game modes available.
