Chelsea Green Says WWE Star Gave Her The Hardest Japanese Strong Style Match Ever

Chelsea Green has spoken out after losing the WWE Women’s United States Championship, while also making it clear that she expects 2026 to be a great year.

On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Chelsea Green defended her WWE Women’s United States Championship against Giulia. Giulia defeated Green in a surprising result, ending Green’s 56-day title reign. The victory also marked payback for Giulia, who had lost the championship to Green earlier this year.

Reflecting on the loss, Green appeared on TMZ Inside the Ring and gave a brutally honest assessment of the match. “So full disclosure, I’m lucky to have hair left after that match. I was limping on both legs.”

“She definitely It was definitely like a Japanese strong style match. And I’ve been to Japan. That was the hardest Japanese strong style match I’ve ever had. Even after living in Japan and wrestling Kairi [Sane] and IYO and Mayu [Iwatani] and all of the STARDOM girls. It was really, really rough.”

Despite the loss, Green admitted that Giulia earned her respect. “But at the end of the day, isn’t that what we want out of a champion? That is what we want. Although I — look, I think I’m the greatest first, fourth, and final champion. However, I have to give it to Giulia, because she beat my ass.”

When asked whether losing the title motivates her to push harder, Green joked about finally getting a break. “So I think for most people, yes. For me, it means a day off. [laughs] Look, I still have a championship, you guys. I’m still a mixed Triple AAA Tag Team Champion with Ethan. So we still are in the champion realm.”

Chelsea Green reveals her big goals for 2026, including a possible WWE Women’s title run

Looking ahead, Chelsea Green shared several goals for 2026 setting her target on Jade Cargill’s title. “I would love to take the title off of Jade. I would love to travel the world a little more. I would love to maybe get a couple of days off in my new home.”

“We’ve been busy. I mean, 2025 was probably the busiest year of my life. With work, with my home life and building the house, like everything. It was just crazy. So I feel like in 2026, either — I don’t know how. There maybe needs to be more hours in the day to be busier.”

“But either I’m busier and we go for the World Title or something like that. Or we just take a step back and enjoy this year, and continue to kind of do what I was doing but without titles. I still am having fun being on Smackdown and entertaining, and being part of Unreal, and doing media and appearances and traveling the world.” [H/T: 411mania]
