Intriguing Update That Points To Chris Jericho’s Imminent WWE Return — Report

It certainly sounds like we’re going to see Chris Jericho back on WWE programming sooner rather than later.

In recent months, the writing has seemingly been on the wall that Chris Jericho would be departing AEW to return to WWE in 2026.

This week, it was reported that Jericho’s AEW contract expires at midnight on December 31. With some already saying they expect to see him back with WWE on the January 5 episode of RAW in Brooklyn.

In a very telling update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that there are WWE licensees who are under the belief that they will soon be able to use Chris Jericho on their products. This would certainly indicate that there’s been communication from the company to their licensees to prepare for Jericho’s imminent return.

How Chris Jericho’s AEW run ended

Jericho’s last appearance with AEW came on the April 9 episode of Dynamite from Baltimore. The show would feature a “TV Time” segment for Jericho, where he would berate Learning Tree members Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Making it clear that he wasn’t mad, he was just disappointed. This occurred shortly after Jericho dropped the Ring of Honor World Championship to Bandido. He would walk out of the building, get into a vehicle, and drive off, never to return.

While WWE likely wouldn’t want any continuity with AEW, it would be hilarious if he pulled up at the RAW in Brooklyn in the same vehicle and outfit he wore on the last episode of Dynamite. But we’re betting that’s not going to happen.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
