A new holder of the Dynamite Diamond Ring was crowned tonight on the Christmas Eve special of AEW Dynamite.
The finals of the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal took place tonight on Dynamite. Pitting AEW National Champion Ricochet against ROH World Champion Bandido. The match ended with Bandido reversing Ricochet’s Spirit Gun into a quick roll-up to secure the victory.
Tonight marked the first time an AEW talent other than MJF has won the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Maxwell Jacob Friedman still holds the record, having won the previous three iterations of the battle royal.
Speaking of MJF, the former AEW World Champion got a taste of his own medicine earlier in the night when he was attacked by “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland following his win over a local enhancement talent.
As Page choked Max with a chain, Swerve Strickland grabbed the microphone and responded to the P. Diddy comments from the previous week, telling Max that his toxic nature made him more of a Diddy than Swerve would ever be.
MJF, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Swerve Strickland will challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship in a four-way match at Worlds End this Saturday. WrestleZone will have full coverage of the pay-per-view as it airs.
