MJF is back, and he wasted little time in going scorched Earth in his return to AEW.
During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash, Friedman made his long-awaited return to the company and immediately had a big impact on the build to the Worlds End pay-per-view later this month.
The star interrupted the contract signing between Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Page. The trio had been in the ring finalizing their planned AEW World Championship Match at Worlds End, but MJF had other ideas.
MJF shocked the crowd by deciding to turn the planned Triple Threat Match into a foursome. He cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract, adding himself to the match. As for why, MJF said he wants to prove he isn’t a coward like Page thinks. He then turned to Joe, saying he still hates him for taking the title from him two years ago.
In another classic MJF moment, he then turned to Strickland. He compared the star Sean Combs, aka Diddy, as a “dogs–t rapper” who wears too much baby oil. He then mocked his former WWE career, saying he enjoyed watching Swerve “twerk for Top Dolla.” He then said that the rent is due, and MJF was coming for the belt.
