Darby Allin feels fit to compete, but AEW is not ready to have him back yet.
Former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin suffered a head injury during his match against Kevin Knight in the Continental Classic Gold League last month. He was hospitalized after the contest and later announced that AEW doctors had removed him from the rest of the tournament.
During his recent appearance on 680 The Fan, Allin shared that he feels great, but AEW hasn’t cleared him to compete. Allin is known for his daredevil style of wrestling, which is why it made sense when he said that the company is saving him from himself by taking its time to clear him.
“I feel amazing, and honestly, it all depends on how much I still love it,” Darby Allin began. “I don’t want to be the guy who’s in wrestling because I have to. I want to do it because I want to. As long as I love it, as long as I like going out there and what I do, I will do it.”
“Honestly, no one knows what I do for my physical recovery regimen. I take care of myself so much. I feel like a million bucks right now, and I’m not lying. But I’m just not medically cleared. They’re just saving me from me, which is fine. But at the end of the day, I feel amazing right now,” Darby Allin said.
