A new report has revealed that AEW star MJF has caught the acting bug and is focusing on his Hollywood career.
The former AEW World Champion has spent the past few months pursuing acting roles while staying away from the wrestling spotlight. Earlier this year, he appeared in Happy Gilmore 2, which starred Adam Sandler, on Netflix. MJF played one of Happy Gilmore’s four sons, marking his biggest movie role so far.
Before taking a break from AEW TV, he also landed a role in the holiday action movie sequel Violent Night 2, and he was involved in a feud with Mark Briscoe on AEW TV. Their rivalry ended at AEW All Out, where Briscoe defeated him in a brutal Tables ‘n’ Tacks match.
Following the loss, MJF promised fans he would come back stronger and more dangerous than ever. According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), MJF has been busy filming Violent Night 2 in Winnipeg and production is expected to wrap soon.
The outlet has not heard when MJF is scheduled to return to AEW, but it would seem like he’ll be available in the near future. Sources within AEW revealed that MJF has truly caught “the acting bug” and often talks about how much he’s enjoying working on his new projects.
