Former WWE Champion Has Knee Surgery

A former WWE Champion has announced that he recently underwent knee surgery.

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, who currently works the independent circuit under the name Raj Dhesi, took to Instagram to announce that he is recovering from knee surgery. He mentioned in the caption that the procedure was to remove two loose bodies and trim his meniscus.

“2 loose bodies removed + meniscus trimmed. Surgery went well, now comes the recovery.”

Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at Backlash 2017 and had a 170-day run with the title before losing it to AJ Styles. WWE released him from his contract in April 2024, and he has been competing in the independent circuit ever since.

Jinder Mahal Recently Refuted The Rumors That Brock Lesnar Refused To Work With Him In WWE

During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes, Jinder Mahal refuted the rumors that Brock Lesnar refused to work with him at Survivor Series 2017, which led him to drop the WWE Championship to AJ Styles before the event.

Mahal claimed that no one in WWE told him Brock Lesnar didn’t want to work with him and that he and Lesnar share a healthy respect toward each other.

“And at that time, no, I didn’t honestly, I swear on anything, nobody told me Brock doesn’t want to work with you, etc.

“Brock shows me nothing but respect,” Jinder Mahal continued. “Even to the very end of the time that I was in WWE, if Brock sees me in the locker room, he shows me the utmost respect. Always handshake, hug, and I don’t see him that way with everybody. I promise you guys, like me and Brock have a certain respect for each other.”
