The Young Bucks’ EVP Trigger Gets Hilarious New Name From AEW Star

JetSpeed didn’t walk away with a win on Wednesday night, but Kevin Knight still had a great sense of humor about the situation.

Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite featured an AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contenders Match between FTR, the Young Bucks, JetSpeed and Jurassic Express. The finish of the match saw FTR hit Knight with the Shatter Machine to score the win, and they’ll now face Brodido at AEW Full Gear.

Kevin Knight commented on the loss, noting that despite losing the match, he’s still rich, a reference to beating the Bucks in a $400,000 Prize match on Collision. He also gave the down-on-their-luck Bucks a new name they could use for their finishing move.

“At least we’re not broke though,” Knight wrote on Twitter/X. “The bucks EBT trigger could never hold The Jet down.”

The move was formerly known as the EVP Trigger. However, since losing their Executive Vice President titles, the duo has renamed it to the BTE Trigger.

Knight’s pitch for a new name likely won’t stick, although it actually is one they briefly considered using this summer. At the time, Nick Jackson said it wouldn’t work because they still had a lot of money, but now that they’re broke… who knows?

Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite also featured a four-way match number one contender’s match featuring Ricochet, Bobby Lashley, Samoa Joe and HOOK. The winner earned a title shot against Hangman Page at AEW Full Gear; catch up on full results from the event here.
