Zayda Steel is thankful for the opportunity, but she is no longer a WWE ID contracted talent.
Steel made the following announcement on social media, revealing that she has decided not to renew her contract in the WWE ID program. Steel is grateful for the opportunity, but says she must do what’s best for her.
“I’ve decided not to renew my WWE ID contract. I’m incredibly grateful for all the knowledge, experience, and opportunities I’ve gained along the way, but at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me,” Zayda Steel wrote on Twitter/X. “I’m only 21, and have already done so much, but I’m just getting started! Thank you ❤️”
Steel was one of the first WWE ID prospects announced when the program began. In recent years, Steel drew attention for her work in MLW and Marigold, the new promotion from STARDOM co-founder Rossy Ogawa. She was also a prominent part of the initial WWE ID tournament this summer.
Steel, Zara Zakher and Kylie Rae competed in a triple threat match over SummerSlam weekend to crown the inaugural women’s champion. Kylie Rae won the match and the title, but recently vacated it after announcing her second pregnancy.
Zayda Steel praised her experience training with Natalya
Zayda Steel spoke with Justin Dhillon of The Wrestling Classic earlier this year and spoke highly of Natalya bringing out her more competitive side. She described it as Nattie helping talent find their “inner FU,” something Naomi and Mara Sadé have also shared recently.
“But she is so, so, so sweet and definitely brought a lot of confidence out of me. Even as simple as like we were all working on heat, she stopped us, and was like ‘Hey, I need you guys to find your inner f*** you. All those bad words and negativity that you read on social media, I want you to feel it.’”
