Jakara Jackson: Natalya Encourages Trainees To Find Their ‘F*ck You’

Mara Sadè will never stop learning, and she’s got a great teacher in Natalya.

As a free agent, Mara Sadè (formerly known as Jakara Jackson) is now preparing to step into the independent wrestling scene, with a match against JCW World Champion Masha Slamovich already confirmed. Part of her preparation has been spent at The Dungeon 2.0, the training facility run by WWE’s Natalya and TJ Wilson in Florida. And while short, Sadè attests that her time at The Dungeon has been highly worthwhile so far.

“To be honest, I’ve learned so much already,” Sadè told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay. “I’m so thankful to be in the situation I’m in, to be able to train with TJ and Nattie, because they’re amazing. Nattie is the GOAT, the BOAT. To be training with her has been so eye-opening. I just feel already like I’m learning so much that I never knew before.

“People say this all the time, but you’re never going to stop learning,” she continued. “So just to hear her and her experiences and even hearing her stories about how it was in NWA was just inspiring. I’ve been following Nattie since Total Divas, for real, so to be training with her is a dream. Even the tips that TJ gives, it just makes sense. I feel like I’m learning things I did not know before because I only knew PC training. The amazing coaches that I had there, but to be getting this new experience, I feel like it’s really good for me, especially because I’m looking to tear sh*t up. I’m looking to tear it down. I’m looking to take over. And this is certainly, I believe, a great run in the right direction.”

Mara Sadè highlights what she’s learned from Natalya

According to the former Jakara Jackson, one of the biggest takeaways from her Dungeon training sessions is making her in-ring work simple, with a boost of intensity behind it. Additionally, Natalya encourages the trainees to find their “f*ck you.”

“I’d say in-ring-wise, everything can be so simple. And I think that’s something that they’ve ironed into me. You can do whatever you want, as long as you put that intensity behind it. And I guess in-ring, something specific that they’ve shared with me that I thought really stuck with me was, Nattie likes to say ‘You’ve got to find that ‘f*ck you.’ Excuse my language! [laughs] [But] the beauty of wrestling is the art of selling and emotions, to be honest. And if you can find that, I feel like you’ve won in the entirety of it,” Sadè said. “Emotions, people want to feel. So if you can find that ‘f you,’ you’re good.”

In addition to Natalya, Sadè cited Nia Jax and Bianca Belair as a mentor. She said the latter has a “leader” aura about her, and also mentioned picking the brains of names like Naomi, Paul Heyman and Cody Rhodes.
