Botched Moonsault On NXT Showdown Leads To Debate Over Who’s To Blame

Tuesday night’s episode of NXT was marketed as a Showdown between NXT and TNA. The show featured a Women’s Survivor Series Elimination match between NXT’s Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice, Sol Ruca and Jaida Parker and Team TNA’s Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration and Mara Sadé.

At one point in the match, Sadé attempted a moonsault off the top rope onto Jaida Parker. However, she overshot Parker and landed on the mat, with the camera angle clearly showing that she missed her target.

Some fans blamed Sadé for the error, as she put Parker into position for the move. Others pointed out that Parker was too close to the ropes, so she should have recognized this and rolled farther away.

However, many people understood that mistakes happen, especially in the ring. The move was a minor part of the match, and as @MissT_TV pointed out on Twitter/X, it’s “lame to point out ONE mistake as if that defines the whole situation.” (And not for nothing, but it wasn’t even the only botch in that match.)

Instead of figuring out who to blame, perhaps it’s worth praising Sadé for selling the move after it didn’t land correctly. Once she hit the mat, Sadé called an audible and grabbed her ribs, showing she hurt herself by missing the move, instead of pretending it was successful. Not only that, but Parker did her best to make it look like there was some contact, as Sadé’s arms hit her.

It’s also worth mentioning that Sadé has hit the move before, including a spectacular one on John Skyler during a mixed tag team match with the Hardys a few weeks ago.
