John Cena Names His Toughest Opponent, And It’s For A Unique Reason

John Cena had an interesting answer when asked who his toughest opponent was.

Cena recently appeared at FanExpo Boston, where he was initially asked to name his worst opponent. The fan asking the question clarified and asked who Cena’s toughest or more difficult opponent was. Cena responded by asking the fan to pick one. The boy said Brock Lesnar, who is Cena’s opponent this weekend at WrestlePalooza.

Cena then named the Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36 as his choice. He explained that the reason it was so tough was that he was really fighting Bray Wyatt and himself.

“Gosh, it’s tough to argue that one [about Brock Lesnar]. I had a match a while ago that was in the Firefly Fun House,” Cena continued. “And the reason that opponent was tough — because I know it was against Bray Wyatt, but it was more or less a match with me. So I’d say that one might be my toughest.”

The Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36 was a cinematic match that saw Cena in unique situations, like cutting “Golden Era’ promos with Bray Wyatt. The match also featured “nWo Cena,” which largely functioned as Cena’s only “heel turn” (in fans’ eyes) until he actually did it this year during his WWE retirement tour.
