AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with FTR and Stokely making their way to the ring. Dax Harwood complains about the injustice that took place at Forbidden Door while the crowd tells him to shut the f*ck up.

Harwood says the illegal man pinned him on Sunday, and he has an issue with referee Paul Turner. Harwood wants Turner to admit he was wrong, reverse the decision, and name FTR the champions. Turner apologizes and says his decision is final.

Stokely says Turner is a moron and an imbecile. The crowd chants “no hoes” at Stoke. The trio starts to get physical with Turner, which brings out Adam Copeland. Cope looks back thinking that Christian Cage was coming with him, but he did not.

A big match is made official for AEW All Out

Cage comes in through the crowd and hits the Killswitch on Stokely, and the four men start to brawl. Security and referees try to separate the four men, but they aren’t having much luck. Once they are finally separated, Cage gets on the microphone and says they handled his problem at Forbidden Door, but now it’s time to take care of Copeland’s problem.

Christian brings up that FTR have fathers, and Copeland tries to stop him, but the crowd boos. Cope calls them sickos and lets Cage finish, and he tells them their fathers are dead. Copeland announces that a match between them and FTR is official next month for All Out.

We get a vingette from Darby Allin, who makes it clear he’s not done with Jon Moxley.

Jon Moxley (w/ Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/ Daddy Magic)

  • The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley catch Daniel Garcia with an inside cradle to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jon Moxley

After the match, Wheeler Yuta gets on the microphone and tells Darby Allin that Moxley doesn’t accept his challenge while Moxley and Garcia jaw at one another at ringside. You can’t make out what was said, but it appears Mox respected Garcia’s effort. Garcia stormed to the back, very upset that he lost the match.

Grade: A-

This was a curious position to put Daniel Garcia in following Forbidden Door. Everyone expected him to turn at the pay-per-view, and it didn’t happen. Now they let him go toe-to-toe with the former AEW World Champion in a losing effort. Perhaps he’s going to be brought into the Death Riders in the coming weeks. I’m not sure, but it’s certainly something to follow.

HOOK returns in Philly!

We are back from commercial break, and Wheeler Yuta is back in the ring, upset about the reaction from his hometown crowd. Yuta says everyone is jealous because he’s a Death Rider and the people they cheer are all on the shelf, injured. Yuta says he has replaced Bryan Danielson. This brings out HOOK, making his long-awaited return to AEW.

Yuta tries to attack him, but HOOK locks in Redrum to put him down and then lays him out.

We get a vingette from MJF whining about losing at Forbidden Door and says when he cashes in his contract, it won’t just be for the AEW World Champion, it will be for Hangman’s soul.

Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron

  • The finish of the match saw Kris Statlander lock Penelope Ford in a modified headscissors to score the submission victory for her team.

Winners: Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron

After the match, Statlander and Bayne continue to brawl. Willow Nightingale comes out, and Cameron plays peacemaker between the two women.

Grade: B+

This was a fan tag match. Stat and Cameron work well together, and this was a good victory for them. We also got another chapter of the story between Statlander and Nightingale. I still believe they should end up being the first-ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. But I guess we’ll see if that ends up happening or not.

Mercedes Moné’s nine belt celebration

Renee Paquette is in the ring with a table of Mercedes Moné’s titles and brings her out for a championship celebration. Moné says Ultimo Dragon had ten titles, and she is looking to smash that record.

Paquette brings up Alex Windsor, and Moné gets upset, saying Windsor has it out for her, saying that she was a better RevPro winner than she ever was, and talks about dancing with her man, Will Ospreay. Moné says if Windsor tries to mess with her, she’ll put her in a hospital bed beside Ospreay. She dances to end the segment. I like Moné a lot, but this was a complete and utter waste of time.

We get a video package from Mark Briscoe in Delaware introducing us to his new child. Briscoe says MJF tried to set him on fire last week, so he’s going to set all of his dreams on fire. Briscoe says he’s tired of hearing Friedman say he can’t win the big one and challenges Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship in Philadelphia.

JetSpeed and Brodido vs. Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander, and Don Callis (w/ Don Callis & Wardlow)

  • The finish of the match saw Josh Alexander catch Speedball Mike Bailey in a quick rollup to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: The Don Callis Family

Grade: B+

This match was kind of nuts, but in a good way. The biggest thing coming out of this match for me personally was the ongoing tension between Okada and Takeshita. When they decide that it’s time to pull Takeshita out of the Don Callis Family, he’s going to be a monster babyface for AEW.

The Hangman Cometh… and he’s not alone!

AEW World Champion Hangman Page makes his way to the ring. Page thanks Will Ospreay for everything he did for him this year and everything he’s done for AEW. Page says while Ospreay is gone, everyone will miss him, and hopefully, when he returns, he can challenge Page for the title.

Hangman says MJF had a shot at him at Forbidden Door and failed. Page says if MJF thinks about signing that contract, he will beat his ass before the ink is dry. This brings out Don Callis…again.

Callis details their history and says he wants that AEW World Title back in the Don Callis Family. Callis says it’s not a matter of if the Don Callis Family will take the title from him, but which one will do it.

Lance Archer, Josh Alexander, Hechicero, and Rocky Romero attack Hangman Page. JetSpeed comes out to try and even the odds, but gets overwhelmed until Kenny Omega saves the day. Omega and Hangman hit the Buckshot V-Trigger on Archer, and the good guys stand tall.

We get a video package hyping up the match between Athena and Mina Shirawaka at ROH Death Before Dishonor this Friday night.

AEW World Trios Championship: The Opps (c) vs. Ricochet and GOA

  • The finish of the match saw MVP hit Ricochet with a cane, which allowed The Opps to quickly take over. Joe locked Ricochet in the Coquina Clutch to win the match via submission.

Winners: And still AEW World Trios Champions, The Opps!

After the match, The Hurt Syndicate comes out and brawls with GOA down the aisle to the backstage area.

Grade: B+

This match went exactly how I thought it would go when I saw it get announced. There was no way The Hurt Syndicate was going to let Ricochet and GOA win gold following Forbidden Door.

Falls Count Anywhere: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Darby Allin

  • The finish of the match saw Darby Allin hit Claudio Castagnoli with two back-to-back Coffin Drops to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Darby Allin

Grade: A+

After the match, Gabe Kidd hits the ring and attacks Allin. Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir join in, but Allin manages to get away as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

This was a great start for AEW at their residency in the 2300 Arena. This is the best I’ve ever seen this venue look. I’ve been at this building before, and it’s hard to even recognize it the way AEW set things up for this show. Really great effort from the production team.

The main event was absolutely bonkers and VERY worthy of a match being held in this venue. It really took the overall show up a notch, as heading into the main event, I was thinking B+ for this show, but this main event was so great, it took things up to the next level.

Grade: A-
