The Latest on Karrion Kross’ WWE Status

Karrion Kross’ WWE contract has sparked a lot of talk lately.

Fightful (via Fightful Select) revealed that Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts were set to expire this weekend on August 10. On August 7, F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer reported that WWE has now sent Kross a new offer. Since that update, Fightful says sources close to Kross and people in WWE have gone quiet, which often means talks are happening behind the scenes.

Both Karrion Kross and Scarlett were originally scheduled to travel to WWE Raw this past Monday, but WWE changed those plans. Creative had early plans to keep Kross on TV, but sources didn’t share any specifics as to why it hasn’t happened.

Both stars haven’t talked much about their contract situation unless asked. As of Monday, they informed people inside and outside of WWE that no offer had been made. However, WWE didn’t tell them their contracts would expire without ”an effort of renewal,” something the company usually communicates in advance.

The report also mentioned that it wouldn’t make sense for Kross and Scarlett to announce if or when they’ve signed new deals, as the buzz around their expiring contracts gives them more leverage. While nothing is confirmed, it’s likely the company have offered them new contracts in the past week.

This kind of last-minute contract situation hasn’t been common in WWE since Dan Ventrelle left, who was known for re-signing talent just before their deals ended. Kross and Scarlett signed three-year deals in 2022, which puts their expiration date at August 10.

Karrion Kross recently addressed his status, saying he hopes to return to WWE. He also added that some of what fans have been reading online was not true.
