Roman Reigns doesn’t plan on working WWE SummerSlam alone.
The OTC1 has been making headlines since his grand return on RAW two weeks ago. Reigns made his comeback during the closing moments of the show to help Jey Uso and CM Punk against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
Reigns and Jey would join forces on RAW this past Monday to take down Breakker and Bronson with a double spear. A tag team match involving the four men seems to be the direction for WWE SummerSlam, which will be a two-night event for the first time in its history.
Taking to social media, Reigns referenced his promo battle with Breakker from this past Monday Night before sharing a piece of advice for the former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion.
“So I’m sitting on the jet last night, and I’m just running that back in my head,” Reigns said. “I keep hearing those squeaky little words that came out of Bron Breakker’s mouth, running his mouth, talking about a whole bunch of stuff that he just don’t understand, you know?
“And I told myself, man, we can keep doing this… We can just keep going, we can brawl every single week. But these boys think they’re the future, and the only way to really become the future and become who you think you are is by capturing the moment. And you can’t do that only on Mondays now. You’ve got to do it at the Big PLEs… You’ve got to do it at the SummerSlams, at the Royal Rumbles, at the Manias. That’s how I’ve made my career, that’s how I’ve made my living.”
Roman Reigns wants Jey Uso as his partner at WWE SummerSlam
“And it seems that none of us are in title matches. We don’t really have much going on. So I’m going to go ahead and extend the offer: if ‘Main Event Jey Uso,’ the ‘YEET Man’ himself, would trust me one last time. I loved it last night, I love standing shoulder-to-shoulder, taking on anybody. I love doing that with my family. If he’ll trust me and accept this challenge with me, I say we take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed at SummerSlam, with the dumba** (Paul Heyman) in their corner. They can have him. We don’t need him anymore. You ain’t got much time… I’m going to need some answers.”
It appears we’ll get an official confirmation on the tag team match next week on RAW. WrestleZone has coverage of the show every Monday.
Update: Jey Uso has responded to the challenge:
And Paul Heyman accepted the challenge. The tag team match is on for SummerSlam!
