Serena Deeb will soon go one-on-one with Mickie James.
For the first time in nine years, “The Professor of Professional Wrestling” will square off with the “Hardcore Country” legend. As announced on Twitter, AEW’s Serena Deeb will go one-on-one with Mickie James at Association Biterroise de Catch (ABC)’s 2024 Festival International De Catch event in Frace.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, July 12, will mark the first in-ring faceoff between Deeb and James since 2015, when Mickie James and Magnus defeated Deeb and James Storm on IMPACT Wrestling. Festival International De Catch event also marks Deeb’s first independent wrestling match since September 2022 — one month before she began a health-related hiatus from AEW. Deeb has since returned to AEW television, most recently facing Willow Nightingale in the opening round of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
For James, this will be her first overall match since April, when she battled Vix Crown (fka Alicia Crow) at the HER event in Australia. James previously wrestled for ABC at the 2023 iteration of Festival International De Catch show. There, she defeated Aurora Teves in a Jean Corne Cup match.
While Deeb continues to reintegrate herself in AEW, James has primarily focused on non-wrestling projects recently, notably serving as a backstage executive for Ohio Valley Wrestling.
