One of NJPW’s top stars has been seen in town ahead of the June 19 episode of AEW Dynamite, according to a new report.
Rami J. Hanna of Bodyslam.net reports that, per sources, former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi has been spotted at the hotel that talent is staying at ahead of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday. Takagi could be seen talking with talent and having coffee with Bryan Danielson.
Takagi has competed at both Forbidden Door events. In 2022, he teamed up with Sting and Darby Allin to beat The Young Bucks and El Phantasmo. In 2023, Takagi, Hiromu Takahashi, and BUSHI defeated Jeff Cobb, Kyle Fletcher, and TJP of United Empire.
Takagi recently appeared in a video package on AEW Dynamite. He declared for the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament, which will begin on Wednesday. Takagi is a former NEVER Openweight Champion, among other accolades.
