AEW Dynamite Results – June 12, 2024
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicks off with AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana.
Swerve Strickland hypes up his match at Forbidden Door against Will Ospreay. Strickland says he possesses a killer instinct that Ospreay doesn’t have anymore, referring to him retiring the Tiger Driver ’91. Strickland says if Ospreay doesn’t pull the trigger, he sure as hell will.
Swerve says he has respect for Ospreay for defending his championship, unlike The Young Bucks, who haven’t defended their titles since they won them. The Elite interrupts, and Kazuchika Okada says it’s his house, bitch.
Nicholas Jackson apologizes for Okada and says he gets very passionate over his friends. Nicholas runs down everything The Elite has done in recent weeks and says half the roster is gone because of them, and it feels pretty damn good.
The Elite challenge AEW’s best to the most violent match in AEW… Blood and Guts! Matthew says he doesn’t love everything Swerve has said about them, but they dig him. Matthew proposes that Strickland join The Elite and be their fifth man. They present Swerve with a pair of their sneakers.
Swerve says he doesn’t wear size nines and buries Matthew for wearing a pearl necklace. Prince Nana throws The Young Bucks’ shoes into the crowd. Matthew says there’s been an injury bug going on, and it has landed on Swerve. They go to gang up on them, but The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn come out to make the save.
Christopher Daniels comes out and interrupts, saying it’s time for the in-ring action, which will see Jack Perry take on Dustin Rhodes in a TNT Qualifier match.
Jack Perry advances to Forbidden Door on AEW Dynamite
The Scapegoat Jack Perry defeated Dustin Rhodes in a TNT Ladder Match Qualifier
- Jack Perry hits Dustin Rhodes with a running knee to score the pinfall victory.
Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe are backstage with Renee Paquette asking them how Cassidy and O’Reilly can get along after Collision. O’Reilly says they are a couple of pros, and they’ve got things covered tonight. Cassidy says he thinks he’s with some people who have his back, but there is someone he knows for sure has his back and Willow Nightingale joins the group.
Mark Briscoe cuts an impassioned promo that I can’t even begin to recap and do it justice. Just watch this amazing promo in the embedded post below.
RUSH defeated Deonn Rusman
- RUSH hits Deonn Rusman with The Horns to score the pinfall victory.
After the match, RUSH takes Justin Roberts’ microphone and tells everyone to shut up. RUSH returns to the ring places his boot on Rusman’s throat and says he’s weak, just like everyone in America. RUSH continues to attack until MJF comes out. The two men brawl in the ring until security tries to separate them, and they attack the security instead.
MJF and RUSH resume their brawl and take things to ringside before fighting into the crowd. MJF drags RUSH into the backstage area before RUSH gets the upper hand. It doesn’t last long, however, as MJF puts RUSH through a table. Security and members of the roster finally manage to separate the two men.
It’s announced that MJF will face RUSH to kick off AEW Dynamite next week with no commercials to interrupt the action.

Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher (w/ Don Callis, Trent Beretta, and The Kingdom) defeated Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, and Kyle O’Reilly
- Kyle Fletcher hits Mark Briscoe with a modified piledriver to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Trent Beretta attacks Orange Cassidy after the match. Willow Nightingale’s music plays to make the save, but Kris Statlander tosses her onto the stage, attacking her. Stokely Hathaway says the next time Nightingale gets in their business, they won’t be dragging her onto the stage; they’ll be dragging her to the ER.
Renee Paquette is backstage with Rey Fenix hyping up his International Title match with Will Ospreay later on tonight.
A video package announces that Shingo Takagi will participate in this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament.
Christopher Daniels is backstage and announces that The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada will have Championship Eliminator matches next week. Daniels makes it clear that seconds will be barred from ringside in both matches.
Katsuyori Shibata films Samoa Joe and HOOK backstage talking about Taz’s love of the color orange before hitting the stage and attacking the Premier Athletes before their tag team match.
Samoa Joe and HOOK (w/ Katsuyori Shibata) defeated The Premier Athletes (w/ Smart Mark Sterling)
- HOOK locks Ariya Daivari in Redrum to score the submission victory for his team.
While Samoa Joe finishes choking out Tony Nese in the corner, Katsuyori Shibata chokes out Mark Sterling at ringside following the match.
A video package plays for Stephanie Vaquer, hyping her match with Mercedes Moné at Forbidden Door.
Mercedes Moné defeated Zeuxis to retain the TBS Championship
- Mercedes Moné hits Zeuxis with the Moné Maker to get the pinfall.
A video plays for Mina Shirakawa that’s been seen on social media.
A contract signing next week for Forbidden Door
Toni Storm, Mariah May, and Luther are backstage with Renee Paquette. Mariah May thanks Storm for putting her in the Owen Hart tournament, and she promises she won’t let her down. May says Mina will be back next week and wants to do a contract signing. May promises she’ll take care of everything. Paquette tells Storm she has a match on Rampage this week against Alex Windsor.
Big Bill brings out Chris Jericho for his “TV Time” segment. After a lot of rambling about corn and his t-shirt on ShopAEW, Jericho brings out his guests, Private Party. Jericho says Private Party has been doing a lot of great things, but one thing they aren’t doing is winning matches. Jericho buries whoever trained him and puts over his trainer Stu Hart.
Chris Jericho critiques the way they get to the top rope. Isiah Kassidy asks them to show them how it’s done. Jericho says he’ll show them how, as he was trained by Owen Hart. Jericho climbs up to the top rope, and Kassidy knocks him off. Private Party takes out The Learning Tree and then hits top rope maneuvers on Jericho before escaping through the crowd.
A video package plays hyping the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match at Forbidden Door between Jon Moxley and Tetsuya Naito.
Juice Robinson, The Gunns, and Cardblade are backstage. They call out House of Black for a match on Collision this Saturday night.
Daniel Garcia defeated Nick Comoroto (w/ Jacoby Watts)
- Daniel Garcia hits the Red Cross on Nick Comoroto to score the pinfall victory. Will Ospreay watches the match on a monitor backstage.
It’s almost time for the AEW Dynamite main event!
Renee Paquette approaches Ospreay about Garcia wanting a shot at the International Championship. Ospreay says he would love to stand there and talk about how great Garcia is but he needs to get ready for his match with Rey Fenix and says he has a contract to turn in as well.
PAC is backstage and is upset about his recent losses. PAC says he’s supposed to be a bastard, but instead, he’s a bitch. However, he says that’s done now as he’s entering the Owen Hart Cup to claim his AEW World Title shot at All-In. PAC ends things by telling Bullet Club Gold he hasn’t forgotten what they did to him.
Will Ospreay defeated Rey Fenix to retain his AEW International Championship
- Will Ospreay hits Rey Fenix with the Swerve Stomp, followed by Hidden Blade to score the pinfall victory.
Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay have a confrontation in the ring. Strickland says Ospreay is still playing games, and he can’t carry the weight of the AEW World Championship on his shoulder. Ospreay takes the title as Swerve goes to walk away and puts a title on each shoulder. Strickland takes it back and tells Ospreay he’s lucky they are friends because if anyone else did that he’d put them in the ground. Strickland leaves the ring as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.
