A recently departed TNA Wrestling official has reportedly now come aboard to All Elite Wrestling.
According to PWInsider, Robert “RD” Evans, who previously served as the head of the TNA creative team, is now on the road with AEW. In addition to his creative role, Evans appeared on TNA (then IMPACT) TV as the barrister (lawyer) for Deonna Purrazzo.
Evans’ AEW activity seems to have begun last week, with sources indicating that he worked on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, along with various backstage segments over the weekend. Looking ahead, Evans is also expected to be on site for tonight’s AEW Dynamite taping in Des Moines, Iowa.
PWI previously reported that the relationship between Evans and TNA had “strained,” with Evans growing “increasingly frustrated” with the company in recent weeks. PWI noted their belief that Evans stepped down from his position on his accord. This was later corroborated by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Before TNA Wrestling, RD Evans served as a member of the WWE creative team until his exit in 2019. Evans is also a former in-ring performer, notably working in promotions such as Ring of Honor and Chikara.
Evans isn’t the only staff member to recently departure from TNA, as multiple figures from live events division left as the company undergoes a “restructuring.” David Sahadi, the now former Creative Director, reportedly exited TNA as well. Prior to his run as Creative Director, Sahadi resided as the Director of TNA broadcasts.
