A new TNT Champion will be crowned.
The Elite stripped Adam Copeland of the TNT Championship due to the injury he sustained at AEW Double Or Nothing. (On Tuesday, Copeland announced he fractured his tibia during a scary dive off of the top of a steel cage.)
The Elite said they needed to crown a new champion and had someone in mind. They attempted to gift the title to Jack Perry, but the returning Christopher Daniels came out and put a stop to things. Daniels announced he had a new job title, and was now acting as Interim Executive Vice President on Tony Khan’s behalf.
Daniels declared they would have qualifying matches where seconds and managers were barred from ringside, which would take place over the next few weeks. The winners of those qualifiers will move on to Forbidden Door to compete in a ladder match to crown a new champion.
