Megan Bayne could be back in AEW sooner than we think.
The American star has made a name for herself in Japan in recent years, wrestling for Stardom between 2023 and 2024. She also starred in OVW, where she is a former Women’s Champion in the promotion.
It was previously reported that she had been under contract with AEW for some time. This was despite rarely appearing for the company
She left Stardom earlier this year, with many expecting her to show up in AEW. This hasn’t happened yet, but Megan Bayne could be returning to the company sooner rather than later.
Fightful Select reported that backstage, there have been pitches to re-debut Megan Bayne in the company. The plan is to bring her back as a heel, although nothing has been confirmed yet.
“Fightful Select has learned that creative pitches have been made for Bayne, for a possible re-debut in All Elite Wrestling. Early indications were that she would be in a heel role.”
The 25-year-old last appeared for the company in 2023, wrestling in a match on AEW Dark.
Megan Bayne In Stardom Was “A Dream Come True”
In a recent interview with WrestleZone’s Ella Jay, Rebecca Scott spoke about her and Megan Bayne’s time in Stardom together.
She called it a “dream come true”, and talks about how insane it was that Bayne made it to Japan to wrestle in one of the world’s top women’s promotion.
“Years before, when me and Megan were really heavy in the gym, when we were training all the time and she was starting her momentum, I was just starting in pro wrestling, we would sit on my couch. She might murder me for saying, but we would sit on my couch watching these STARDOM matches, taking notes, thinking how insane it would be to be there,” Scott recalled.
“Specifically, we would watch Giulia matches. So when she got to wrestle Giulia and they did what they did — insanity. We’ve had so many conversations about this. We can’t believe it. This is the example of dreams come true. We would sit on my couch, like, ‘Look how cool these girls are. One day, we’re gonna be over there. We’re gonna be doing this,’ Then she went over and did it.”
