Ric Flair is not keeping quiet about his altercation in a restaurant earlier this week.
As previously report, Flair warned his Twitter followers to stay away from Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza restaurant in Gainesville, Florida. He was allegedly asked to leave for taking too long in the bathroom, rousing suspicion with the staff.
A video of the WWE Hall of Famer confronting the restaurant staff then emerged, showing Flair arguing after being asked to leave the establishment. This nearly three-minute long clip has gone viral, and has not been a good look for the Nature Boy.
Flair warned them that he would tell his story of the incident via social media, before trying to give the waitress an $1000 tip.
Flair reacts
Never one to keep quiet regarding controversies, Ric Flair spoke to The Gainesville Sun to discuss what happened in Gainsville.
Flair told the publication that he suffered from “a medical condition” after nearly dying in 2017. He said that a staff member rushed past him into the toilet, and he confronted the man for sitting on the toilet and playing on his phone.
After he left the bathroom, Flair claimed he was called a “creep” and “peeping Tom” by the staff.
“I’ll be quite honest with you, I was pissed because I didn’t do anything wrong. It’s my word against the kitchen employee and it makes no sense. I admit to everything I said. I have no problem with it because I was mad.”, he told The Sun.
Flair then said he was considering legal action against the restaurant, after the video was leaked online. He went on to say he could buy the whole restaurant if he wanted, and rename it after himself.
“I have the money to buy the restaurant. It’ll be called Ric Flair’s Italian Bistro.”
Piesanos responds
Piesanos co-owner Jerry Roberts told The Sun that the restaurant rejected Flair’s tip and paid the employees the money out of the ownership team’s pocket. He also thanked the staff for remaining professional during the incident.
“It was really a matter of principle on how our team was treated and no matter how much money someone’s willing to spend, if their not going to treat our team with respect, we just felt like that was the right thing to do,” Roberts said.
“The video that has now been leaked by somebody else speaks for itself,” Roberts added.
