Two teams have advanced.
The March 27 AEW Dynamite in Quebec City featured the first two quarterfinals matches in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament.
First, The Young Bucks outlasted Private Party to ensure their spot in the semi-finals. The finish saw the Bucks evade a 630 splash by Marq Quen, which set up the EVP Trigger for the win.
Later on, Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta of Best Friends renewed hostilities with The Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. Despite The Undisputed Kingdom’s best efforts with Roderick Strong at ringside, Taven suffered defeat when Beretta rolled him up for the three-count.
As a result, The Young Bucks and Best Friends will now clash in a semi-final match on April 3. The quarterfinals will continue on the March 30 Collision with Ricky Starks and Bill Bill vs. Top Flight, plus FTR vs. The Infantry.
The tournament finals to crown new champions will take place at AEW Dynasty on April 21. WrestleZone will continue to provide updates as the tournament unfolds.
