One of the most surprising characters who unexpectedly became a part of weekly AEW television is the mother of Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne. She began her role as a supporting mother and then turned into a worrying mother when her son turned heel. Now, she has also turned heel.
Recently, the eighteen-year-old was interviewed by Justin Dhillon of The Wrestling Classic. During the interview, Wayne opened up about his mom being part of the program. Wayne is happy that his mom is also traveling along with him in the Jacksonville-based program.
“No. I… No, I had no idea this would ever happen. But, I am very thankful for it. Because, since Buddy (Nick’s father) passed when I was very young, all I have is my mom. So, at first when I was doing AEW, she would come to kind of like my big matches. She was there at the first one, she was there at Wembley, she’s there at the pay-per-views. Uh… She was there for the tag team match against Swerve and AR Fox.
“And now, she’s kind of getting involved more in like angle stuff and… Uh… In this story we are doing. So I’m very grateful she’s doing it because… She was just watching on the sidelines as like a very proud mom, but now he gets to be a part of it. And one day in five-ten years from now, she can look back and say that she can happily be a part of that and was a part of that and I’m glad she can say that as well,” Nick Wayne said.
Recently, Shayna Wayne cost Adam Copeland the TNT Title by helping Christian Cage.
