Worlds collided at the premiere of The Iron Claw.
Stars were in attendance at the premiere of The Iron Claw, director Sean Durkin’s film about the Von Erich family, on December 10. AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is in the movie, as he plays Lance Von Erich, and he took to Twitter to share a picture in which he can be seen shaking hands with John Cena.
Cena, a 16-time world champion, recently wrapped up a return run with WWE. He spent several weeks with the company during the SAG-AFTRA strike, as he had written permission to do so.
MJF was also pictured with WWE star Baron Corbin at the premiere.
The Iron Claw is set to premiere in theaters on December 22.
MJF Is Currently Dealing With Injuries
MJF reportedly came out of AEW Full Gear banged up, as he injured his shoulder and his hip. He claimed that he had a torn labrum. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed that the injury was legitimate. However, he is still set to compete in a world title match against Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End. The Devil’s attackers seemingly took MJF out ahead of a scheduled tag team match on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.
