Former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens gets honest.
The self-proclaimed Prize Fighter is a Grandslam Champion in WWE. He has held the WWE Universal title, the United States title, the Intercontinental title, the NXT title, and the tag team championships at least once in his WWE career.
The last time Kevin Owens competed for a World title, he was unsuccessful in capturing the Universal title from the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. It was not just once, but he battled him on multiple occasions but failed every time.
Recently, in an interview with James Williams, the former WWE Universal Champion mentioned that he does wish to hold that title. However, he is convinced that the fans are not interested in seeing him battle Roman Reigns yet again.
“Well, obviously I love that. But I’ll be honest, maybe a little too honest. I don’t think the fans would like that. Because I’ve had my shot at Roman Reigns many many times. For one reason or another, it didn’t work out. I almost don’t want to even try. Because I don’t think that’s what fans want. They’ve seen it. Fans want new exciting things,” Owens explained.
“I don’t think Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns is something they’re asking for. I don’t … I’m here for the fans. I want people to enjoy what I’m doing. So as much as I wish I could be champion and go for the title again. I don’t think it’s right. So it’s not in my plans,” Kevin Owens said.
