Daniel Garcia reflects on the origin of his popular dance.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Daniel Garcia was asked about the origin of his dance.
“I never really intended the dance to become a thing as much as it has in the ring,” Daniel Garcia said. “It was just something, me and Isiah would do it when we cheesecake, we would do it when we go out. We would always do a little dance move, like a little Latin dance moves. I love Latin music. Isiah and Cheesecake can’t stand it, I listen to it too much. I would just do it when we would go out. I think we were in El Paso for the first time, big Latin community, I had a match with Ricky Starks.
“And I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna get this crowd into it right now.’ So I started busting out a little dance, and the crowd started coming up for it. I’m like, ‘Okay, that was cool. Maybe it’s something I’ll throw in the heat every once in a while. Maybe it’s something I’ll throw in as a little taunt. Then by the time Forbidden Door this year [in] Toronto, it took on a life of its own.”
Hardy encouraged Daniel Garcia to let his dance free, like Jeff Hardy did with The Juke. Garcia agreed that doing that worked out well for Jeff Hardy.
Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker unsuccessfully challenged The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn for the AEW World Trios Championship at AEW Battle of the Belts VIII.
