Triple H has named WWE’s newest general managers.
During the season premiere of WWE SmackDown, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H appeared in the ring alongside Adam Pearce. Triple H praised Pearce for his work as a WWE Official over the last three years and announced he is being promoted to the General Manager of RAW.
Before Triple H could reveal SmackDown’s new GM, NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio interrupted and complained about Pearce booking Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in a Tag Team Championship match tonight ahead of Judgment Day receiving their rematch on Monday.
Triple H then said Mysterio should be taking it up with SmackDown’s new General Manager — Nick Aldis. The former NWA and IMPACT Wrestling star then appeared in the ring and touted SmackDown as the number-one brand and noted that he’s looking forward to healthy competition with Pearce.
Aldis has had a rollercoaster of a year. After a five-year run at the top of NWA, Aldis departed and briefly returned to IMPACT Wrestling this past spring. He headlined Slammiversary against IMPACT World Champion Alex Shelley and then began working as a producer for WWE. Tonight’s appearance marks his first on screen as it seems the two-time NWA World Champion will be sticking around in WWE for the foreseeable future.
WrestleZone will continue to provide updates on Aldis’ status as more information becomes available.
