The Acclaimed is one of the most popular factions in All Elite Wrestling. They recently met with NFL legend Deion Sanders.
Sanders is someone who has made a mark in multiple sports. He has played Baseball and Football. Deion Sanders had been part of six different teams during his twelve-year tenure as a Professional Baseball career. After which he pursued his career in the National Football League and now serves as head coach at the University of Colorado.
Recently, Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed took to Twitter to share a picture. He was with his tag team partner ‘Platinum’ Max Caster. The two met with Sanders since AEW was in town for Dynamite on Wednesday.
“SCISSOR ME COACH PRIME EVERYONE LOVES THE ACCLAIMED,” Anthony Bowens tweeted.
Swerve Strickland and Mark Henry also met up with Coach Prime, but they didn’t scissor him.
Anthony Bowens promises to become the first gay World Champion
The current AEW World Trios Champion was recently interviewed by Out.com. During the interview, Anthony Bowens mentioned that no member of the LGBTQ community has been able to capture the top prize in professional wrestling. Thus he wishes to be the first one to do so.
“As much as I hope The Acclaimed, the tag team I’m a part of, stays forever, I would love to become AEW’s first gay World Champion. I got the Tag Team titles checked off the list, but there hasn’t been a gay World Champion. I would also like to be a Grand Slam champion, too, which is where you win every title once,” Anthony Bowens said.
While speaking in the same interview, Anthony Bowens also spoke about the growth of professional wrestling. To be more specific, the growth of LGBTQ wrestlers in the business. He is happy that the stereotypes have been shattered and the wrestlers are given the freedom to do their own thing and are treated equally.
