AEW Collision Results – September 23, 2023
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with promos from Darby Allin, Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, Ricky Starks, and Bryan Danielson to hype up two of tonight’s biggest matches.
Christian Cage defeated Darby Allin and Luchasaurus to capture the AEW TNT Championship
- Darby Allin hits the Coffin Drop on Luchasaurus. Christian Cage breaks up the pin and tosses Allin out. Cage pins Luchasaurus to become the champion.
The Don Callis Family is backstage. Don Callis says it makes him sick that Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho are on the same side when he created both of them. Callis says Omega’s care for Kota Ibushi makes him weak. Callis announces Will Ospreay as the third man for their trios match at AEW WrestleDream.
Christian Cage and Luchasaurus are backstage. Cage calls himself the undisputed TNT Champion and dedicates the match to Nick Wayne’s mother and father. Tony Schiavone announces that there will be a two out of three falls match for the TNT Championship next Sunday at WrestleDream. Cage flips out and goes to look for Tony Khan.
FTW Champion HOOK and Rob Van Dam defeated Daddy Magic and Cool Hand Ang (w/ Anna Jay and Jake Hager)
- Rob Van Dam hits a Five Star Frog Splash on Daddy Magic to secure the pinfall victory for his team.
A video package plays recapping Eddie Kingston becoming Ring of Honor World Champion at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. Kingston challenges Katsuryori Shibata to a match at AEW WrestleDream.
AEW WrestleDream is quickly coming together
A very quick Dark Order vignette airs. That shifts to The Kingdom backstage. Matt Taven is very upset about what happened at Rampage: Grand Slam. The Kingdom challenges Best Friends to a match next week on AEW Collision.
Julia Hart (w/ Brody King) defeated Kiera Hogan
- Julia Hart locks Heartless on Kiera Hogan to win the match via submission.
Julia Hart continues to attack Hogan after the bell. Skye Blue comes out to make the save but gets a face of mist for her troubles. Brody King says this violence will not end until Hart gets a shot at Kris Statlander and the TBS Championship. King tells Statlander to put her title on the line next week at WrestleDream or the body count will continue to rise. Julia Hart says the House always wins.
A video package plays for The Righteous. It’s again stated that they will challenge Adam Cole and MJF for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles at WrestleDream.
Jay White (w/ Bullet Club Gold) defeated Andrade El Idolo
- Andrade El Idolo had the Figure 8 locked in on Jay White. Bullet Club Gold distracts the referee while Juice Robinson hits Idolo in the face with a plaque. White hits Bladerunner on Idolo to secure the pinfall victory.
A video package plays for Santana and Ortiz, continuing to build their rivalry that kicked off last night on AEW Rampage: Grand Slam. Ortiz says Santana is a keyboard warrior who runs from his problems, but he won’t be able to run much longer.
The rivalry between Keith Lee and Shane Taylor continues on AEW Collision
Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty are backstage. Taylor talks about the history of his tag team with Keith Lee in Ring of Honor. Taylor says it’s his time now and Lee is the only person standing in his way. It’s teased that Keith Lee will take on Lee Moriarty soon.
Aussie Open joins the commentary team for the next match.
FTR defeated The Workhorsemen to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles
- Dax Harwood locks JD Drake in a Sharpshooter to score the submission victory for his team.
Aussie Open get in the ring and remind FTR in eight days’ time they’ll be in the fight of their lives. Kyle Fletcher says Aussie Open might not have lived up to the hype since coming to All Elite Wrestling, but they will prove themselves at WrestleDream.
Dax Harwood runs down Aussie Opens recent losses and tells them if they don’t bring the dog-like attitude to WrestleDream next week don’t bother showing up.
Miro and CJ Perry will go their own paths in All Elite Wrestling
CJ Perry is backstage. Perry says Miro has lost his way and she managed him for years and all she wanted to do was help lead him to gold again. Miro interrupts and says his temptation is her. Miro says the lights and cameras change her. They both agree to take their own path in All Elite Wrestling. Perry asks Miro not to lay his hands on anyone she decides to manage in AEW. Miro walks away and doesn’t give her an answer.
Bryan Danielson defeated Ricky Starks in a Texas Deathmatch
- Bryan Danielson wraps a steel chain around his knee and hits Ricky Starks with a Busaiku knee to win the match.
Wheeler Yuta and Big Bill come out to check on their respective competitors as AEW Collision goes off the air.
