The leader of the Alpha Academy, Chad Gable has recently created a big buzz around him. The reason behind it was his sequence of matches against WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther.
A couple of weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, Gable was in the main event against The Ring General. It was a title match. Despite putting on a stellar performance, Gable was unable to get the job done. After the match, during a backstage interview, he promised that he’ll be the one to take that Intercontinental Championship off of Gunther.
Recently, Chad Gable was a special guest on WWE’s After The Bell podcast. During the episode, he revealed why he was so confident. He mentioned that whenever he promises something he has always delivered and this will be no different.
“I felt comfortable saying that knowing that I am going to deliver on it. Did anybody really think, going into it, that I was going to take him off the throne that night? I don’t think so. But, by the end of that match, we eliminated all that doubt in people’s minds. We got this close. And for a guy like me, to get that close, and get the people to believe, I can’t just leave it at that. So to say, ‘I swear to God,’ I said it very deliberately. I deliver on the things I say I’m going to do and I don’t do it often where I tell people, this is what I’m going to do. But every time I do, it’s happened and I’ve delivered, and this will be no different,” Chad Gable said.
Gunther currently holds the record for the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion.
