AEW Collision Results – September 16, 2023
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with promos from The Blackpool Combat Club, Ricky Starks, Big Bill, Kris Statlander, Britt Baker, Dark Order, and The Acclaimed, hyping up tonight’s matches.
Ricky Starks and Big Bill defeated Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli
- Ricky Starks hits Bryan Danielson with a low blow, followed by the Roshambo to secure the pinfall victory for his team.
The Hungbucks accept the challenge from The Mogul Embassy for a trios match next week at AEW Rampage Grand Slam, but up the stakes and make it a title match for the Ring of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Titles.
A video package plays for Powerhouse Hobbs. Hobbs says the next chapter of The Book of Hobbs is destruction. Hobbs says no one is safe.
We then hear from Miro, who says things aren’t finished with Powerhouse Hobbs. Miro goes on to question why God brought his hot and flexible wife back into his life at All Out.
FTR defeated The Iron Savages to retain the AEW World Tag Team Titles
- FTR hit Power and Glory on Boulder to score the pinfall victory.
The Workhorsemen come out and challenge FTR for a future title match. The four men shake hands as the crowd chants, “Who are you?”
Keith Lee’s next opponent revealed
Keith Lee is backstage. Before the interview can really get started, he’s interrupted by Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty. Taylor says Lee always lives in the past; he introduces him to Moriarty. Taylor says Lee told everyone to run next week, but Shane Taylor Promotions doesn’t run.
John Silver defeated Anthony Bowens
- Evil Uno attacked Anthony Bowens at ringside while the referee’s back was turned. John Silver hit a running knee to Bowens’ head to score the pinfall victory.
Eddie Kingston is backstage. Kingston explains the history between himself and Claudio Castagnoli. Kingston says he’s trying to fix things and it’s driving him nuts that he hasn’t been able to do that yet. Eddie says this match with Castagnoli will fix things. Kingston says win or lose at Grand Slam, this is it. Kingston dares Castagnoli to try and beat him in New York.

Orange Cassidy and HOOK are backstage eating chips. Cassidy and HOOK agree to team up for a tag team match at Grand Slam.
Aussie Open win a quick squash match
- The match was very quick, and their opponents weren’t named.
Following the match, Aussie Open challenged FTR to a match at WrestleDream for the AEW World Tag Team Titles.
RJ City has a sit-down interview with Toni Storm. Storm complains about the lighting being used for the interview. City asks her about her match with Saraya next week and her current change. Storm says she hasn’t changed; the business has. Storm says this is a company, not a charity and this company wouldn’t know talent if it slapped their tits off. They tease a part two coming later.
Andrade El Idolo defeated Scorpio Sky
- Andrade El Idolo applies the Figure Eight on Scorpio Sky to win the match via submission.
Bullet Club Gold come out onto the stage. Jay White says he noticed that Andrade was watching Bullet Club Gold backstage last week during their match. White says everyone wants the Switchblade spotlight, but no one can have it. White challenges El Idolo to a match next week on Collision.
A video package is played showcasing the history between Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi.
Ring of Honor Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata is backstage. Shibata announces he’ll have a match at AEW WrestleDream.
A big upset on AEW Collision
The Righteous defeated The Hardys
- The Righteous hit a double-team move on Jeff Hardy. Vincent scores the pinfall victory for his team.
Vincent says The Righteous want a shot against MJF and Adam Cole for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Titles.

FTR are backstage. They accept Aussie Open’s challenge for a match at AEW WrestleDream.
Ricky Starks and Big Bill are backstage upset. Starks says he’s tired of Bryan Danielson getting all of the attention even though he beat him tonight. Starks challenges Danielson to a Texas Deathmatch next week on AEW Collision.
Kris Statlander defeated Britt Baker to retain the AEW TBS Championship
- Britt Baker had Lockjaw locked in, but Statlander reversed it into a rollup to retain her championship.
