Mercedes Moné is in attendance at AEW All In.
During the AEW All In Zero Hour pre-show, cameras showed and acknowledged Mercedes Moné in the crowd at Wembley Stadium watching the event. This marks Moné’s first AEW appearance, although it remains to be seen if there’s anything more to it.
Moné has been out of action since suffering a foot injury in May when she competed for the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. AEW star Willow Nightingale ultimately won the title and defended it for 45 days.
There hasn’t been any word on when Moné will return to the ring, although this appearance may indicate she’s getting closer to that point.
Update: Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that there have been recent conversations between Moné and AEW. The former IWGP Women’s Champion is said to be “open” to appearing, and one source expressed “heavy optimism” that the two sides will be working together.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider subsequently reported that the backstage expectation is that Moné will come in for appearances once she is medically cleared. Johnson wrote that it’s believed that Moné likely would have debuted at the Blood & Guts show at the TD Garden on July 19 had she not gotten hurt.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
