AEW CEO Tony Khan says he has had a good conversation with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.
WWE legend Goldberg is a free agent, as his contract expired at the end of 2022. He hasn’t wrestled since WWE Elimination Chamber 2022, but he has expressed his interest in a potential retirement match.
At the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Khan was asked whether he has talked to Goldberg in recent weeks. He stated that he has, and they have talked in the past as well. Khan didn’t specify what they have had conversations about.
“Yeah, yeah I have,” Khan said. “I have talked to Bill. It wouldn’t be that unusual. I’ve talked to Bill when he’s not been under contract at times, and have a good relationship with Bill. So I have had a good conversation with him, but I’ve had a lot of great conversations with Bill. Bill’s family has done a lot of great things in Jacksonville. He’s related to the Wolfson family, who built the Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville.
“Bill’s a great former football star, and I work in football, and it’s a big part of my life, so we have a lot in common, and we have a lot of mutual friends, and I have a really good relationship with Bill. So I like him a lot. As to what I’ve talked to him about, I would say that’s just between the two of us. But yeah, I have, and it was a good chat. I like Bill a lot, he’s a great guy.”
According to Rick Bassman, Goldberg and Sting are in talks for a potential appearance in Israel. More information is available here.
