WWE NXT will reportedly host another premium live event later this summer.
With WWE NXT officially back on the road for premium live events, many have wondered how their remaining 2023 schedule might shake out. As such, it appears that they are planning on holding another event later this summer. After the conclusion of Battleground on May 28, PW Insider reports that WWE NXT will hold its next premium live event on Saturday, August 12. The location of that subsequent show has not been locked in yet.
Last year, NXT held two events during the summer months. In June, they hosted “In Your House,” which was headlined by an NXT Championship between Bron Breakker and Joe Gacy. Breakker retained his championship after nearly 16 minutes of competition. Later that September, NXT collaborated with NXT UK to present “World Collide.” With NXT UK officially disbanding, WWE decided to unify titles in their women’s, tag team, and men’s divisions. The main event saw Bron Breakker defeat NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate via pinfall. NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose also defeated Blair Davenport and NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura to take possession of the merged titles.
While the wrestling world awaits more details on the upcoming August event, the NXT Superstars prepare for Battleground in Lowell, Massachusetts. As of this writing, four matches have been announced, including an NXT Stand & Deliver rematch between Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker.
Here is an updated look at the NXT Battleground card:
