AEW Rampage Results (1/27/23): Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta

All Elite Wrestling will deliver an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on January 27.

On tonight’s episode, The Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta) and Danhausen will take on Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh. The two teams have been feuding in recent weeks, dating back to the January 13 episode of AEW Rampage, when Jarrett and his allies attacked Paul Walter Hauser until the Best Friends made the save. Lethal unsuccessfully challenged Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship on the January 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Elsewhere, Hangman Page will face Wheeler Yuta on Friday night. Plus, Jamie Hayter will face Emi Sakura, and Powerhouse Hobbs will be in action.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Hangman Page defeats Wheeler Yuta via pinfall

In the opening match of the night, Page took down Yuta in a stellar match. Late in the bout, Page was able to overpower Yuta, who was hitting him with a series of elbows. After hitting a Buckshot Lariat, Page then used Jon Moxley’s Death Rider finisher on Yuta for the pin and win.

Promo: Eddie Kingston

In a brief promo, Kingston said that the House of Black is right, and that the “real” Kingston has to come out, and Ortiz will be the one who has to deal with it. Eddie understands the House of Black now, and said he’s ready to go home.

Match 2: Satnam Singh, Jeff Jarrett, and Jay Lethal defeat Danhausen & The Best Friends via pinfall

In a somewhat quick match, it was the trio of Singh, Jarrett, and Lethal that walked out with a big win. Towards the end of the match, Danhausen and Singh were in the middle of the ring, with Danhausen landing a few punches on Singh but to no effect. After the group all banded together, however, they were able to deal some damage to Singh, but Jarrett ended up sneaking up from behind Danhausen and knocking him out with the Golden Globe Award he stole a couple of weeks ago.

Backstage segment: Britt Baker & Ruby Soho

Backstage, Baker finds Soho and begins an argue with her. Soho said that she didn’t need Baker’s help in taking out Toni Storm, but Baker countered by telling Soho that it was time for her to pick a side, and grow a backbone.

Match 3: Powerhouse Hobbs defeats Tony Mud via pinfall

In an extremely quick match, Hobbs continued his domination over AEW< taking down Mud with a vicious torture rack slam for the win.

Promo: Top Flight

After beating the Young Bucks, Top Flight says they now have their eyes set on going after The Elite’s AEW World Trios Championships.

Promo: Dustin Rhodes

In a brief promo from Rhodes, the superstar thanked fans for sticking with him after his tough month. However, Swerve and the Mogul Affiliates then interrupted, saying they would take down the “old man” if he didn’t back down. A brief brawl ensued after Rhodes wouldn’t, causing AEW officials to come running down and break everyone up.

Match 4: Jamie Hayter defeats Emi Sakura via pinfall

In the final match of the night, Hayter walked away with a big win over Sakura. In a match that saw both superstars brawling from the very start, it was Hayter that would do just enough to win late in the match. As the bout began coming to a close, Sakura hit a Tiger Driver and moonsault splash, but Hayter ended up kicking out of the pin attempt. Afterwards, Hayter then got hit in the face a couple of times, but was able to quickly hit a big lariat on Sakura that then let Hayer pick her up and hit a Hayterade for the pin and win.
