Two major heel turns occurred on AEW Dynamite.
During the January 18 episode of Dynamite, Saraya berated Hikaru Shida in a backstage segment for accidentally costing her and Toni Storm in their tag team match the week before. As a result, Saraya angrily ordered Shida to stay backstage before heading to the ring after Storm said the “homegrown” stars didn’t know what they were doing.
While Toni Storm went one-on-one with Willow Nightingale, Shida made her presence known at ringside with a kendo stick in hand anyway. At the end of the bout, Saraya distracted Willow from the apron to allow Storm to secure the roll-up win using the tights. Saraya and Storm immediately beat down Nightingale until Ruby Soho ran down to make the save.
Saraya and Storm retreated together, while Shida remained neutral and watched everything unfold.
#ToniStorm picks up the win, but @Saraya wastes no time in attacking @willowwrestles after the bell! Thankfully @realrubysoho was able to intervene in time, but what have we just seen from Saraya and Toni Storm? Tune in to #AEWDynamite LIVE on TBS! pic.twitter.com/MHO8xaxU1D

Since their respective debuts in 2022, both Saraya and Storm had been booked as babyfaces.
