R-Truth is still sidelined because of a second surgery he had to have.
During a live stream on his YouTube channel, R-Truth was taking fan questions and one asked why he hasn’t returned to WWE television yet. Truth has been out with a torn quad since November. Truth was injured during his November 1 match against Grayson Waller on NXT, and had surgery to repair it on November 8.
“Still healing up. Still healing up from my quad injury, just came on here to holla at y’all,” Truth said.
Truth then shared that he needed a second surgery to combat an infection after the first surgery, and that pushed his return timeframe back.
“Yeah, I’m going back to WWE, I’ve just got to heal up. I had to have two surgeries. A lot of people don’t know that. I got an infection, so I had to have another surgery. That set me back but y’all know me, I’m probably coming back sooner than y’all think.”
Later in the stream, Truth noted that he started physical therapy the week prior. Truth didn’t give any specific time as to when he’d be back, but full recovery from this type of injury typically takes 4-6 weeks.
