Ricky Starks has his sights set on stardom and greatness, both in wrestling and beyond.
Starks is one of the brightest stars in AEW; he previously held the FTW Championship during his run with Team Taz. In recent months, he has continued to garner buzz, both through his feud with MJF and his rivalry with Chris Jericho. Starks scored a major victory when he pinned Jericho, a former world champion, on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite.
In an interview with David Taub of GV Wire, Starks was asked about his five-year plan. In response, he stated that he sees himself rising to the top of the wrestling world and doing some movies, potentially with DC or Marvel.
“I see myself making a lot of money,” Starks said. “I see myself on top of the wrestling world and I see myself, you know, doing some some movies here and there. Maybe some DC or Marvel movies. Who knows?”
Starks also shared his thoughts ahead of his match against Hager on the January 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, which comes as an extension of his feud with Jericho. The former FTW Champion made it clear that he’s glad he’s getting the chance to test himself against stars of that caliber.
“To me is pretty important just because it gets more eyes on who I am as a competitor and also … it’s kind of been an up-and-down battle, so to speak, in the past few years,” Starks said. “So I think it’s great to finally test my challenge against somebody like Chris Jericho in that regard,” Starks said. “Going through this whole bout with Jericho coming out at the end of it, a lot better rested than I was, you know, going into it is what I’m aiming for here,”
WrestleZone has coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs every Wednesday. Check out the updated card for this week’s episode here.
