New Japan Pro-Wrestling has crowned the winners of the World Tag League and Super Junior Tag League tournaments.
The competition concluded on December 14 at NJPW’s event in Miyagi, Japan.
First, Lio Rush and YOH defeated Chris Bey and Ace Austin of Bullet Club in the Super Junior tournament finals. With their victory, the duo earned a shot at the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. They will challenge TJP and Francesco Akira for the gold at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17. The win is a first for the duo, though YOH has emerged victorious four times alongside SHO in the past.

In the main event, Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto) defeated Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) to win the World Tag League. As a result, Bishamon will get a shot at the IWGP World Tag Team Championship. They will challenge FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) for the gold at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17. The victory marked Bishamon’s second consecutive World Tag League victory.
