Arn Anderson offers an update about his AEW contract.
During a Zoom chat with members of AdFreeShows.com, the WWE Hall of Famer noted that he plans on being retired from the business in a year and a half. During the chat, he noted that he should be “on the beach somewhere” in 2023. (H/t Dominic DeAngelo of Wrestling Inc. for the transcription).
On December 13, Anderson revised his statement in a tweet. He emphasized that he is still under contract with AEW for another year and a half, and he hopes to repay Tony Khan for having him and his son Brock as a part of the company. He apologized for any confusion he may have caused. Anderson also made it clear that he’d like to “be around” for as long as he can contribute to the business and have fun.

Anderson made his AEW debut at the inaugural All Out in 2019. He then signed a contract in December 2019 and made his AEW Dynamite debut on the January 1 episode of the show. He initially worked as Cody Rhodes’ advisor and coach. Though Rhodes has since left the company, Arn has managed his son, Brock Anderson, but the duo haven’t appeared on AEW TV in recent months. Anderson is somewhat active on AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation.
