Renee Paquette Has Two Different AEW Contracts, Confirms Length Of Both Deals

Renee Paquette would love for her role in AEW to evolve.

Speaking with Richard Deitsch on the Sports Media Podcast, Renee Paquette confirmed she had two different contracts with AEW.

“I’ve got a multiple-year [commitment]. I have a three-year deal with AEW. Three years as talent,” Paquette confirmed, “and then also a three-year producer contract, so I have two different contracts.”

Renee Paquette also spoke about expanding her role in AEW, noting how she would love to do more. Paquette knows AEW is a wrestling-first company, but she would love to help out more and add a new perspective to the presentation of the show.

“I would love for that role to evolve. I think that the thing with AEW, obviously it is a wrestling company. It is a matches-heavy show. It’s not necessarily as much about the broadcast in the way that WWE was. It’s more so about these great talents and showcasing them in a different way. That being said, though, I love doing those interviews, I love doing backstage interviews. They’re really fun for me, especially when I can work with some younger WWE talent that maybe has not been in that kind of situation before. There’s so many people that I’m dying to do proper sit-down interviews with. I wanna spend some real time with somebody and really unpeel some of those layers and figure out who some of these characters are to try to push some of those stories forward, to give some context to fans as to who some of these wrestlers are, even though some of these wrestlers are world-renowned stars. If you’re a casual fan, you might not know who everyone is, and I would love to provide a little bit more context into who they are and really get into that stuff.

“I obviously love doing that with my podcast. So to do that on the television side is something that I would love to do. As well as, I think just finding other ways to expand my role even throughout the show. I’ve got a couple ideas of things that I really, really want to do, and I’m hoping to start to have some of those conversations and maybe look to execute some of those things in the new year. I do think I bring a lot more value than just, I could do backstage interviews in my sleep. That’s somewhere that I would love to put on more of my producer hat and help to get somebody else brushed up to do those backstage interviews. Whether it’s on the wrestling side or the broadcasting side, I think that being able to look at it from a different perspective is something that I enjoy.”

Renee Paquette spoke with the media at Starrcast in Nashville and was asked by WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard about the possibility of being a producer someday.

“Maybe to a degree,” Paquette noted. “There will always kind of be the part of me like I love–there’s something about the performance aspect and being in front of the camera. That will always be the thing that I gravitate towards that I love to do. But there was even like a point in time in WWE when they were having me be a little bit more hands-on, on the backstage segments that I was working on.”

“Then we’re bringing in new broadcasters, really kind of getting them up to speed and helping them figure out how to kind of work within that world. And I love doing that,” she explained. “I do really love being able to help other people and helping them kind of figure out how to be good in that role. It’s one of those things that really just kind of takes time and experience. Yeah, I liked doing that. It was cool.”
